NWSD trio represents at Vodacom Durban July Semi Finals.

The annual Vodacom Durban July is a benchmark of glits and glamour on the South African  social calendar.  And each year the numbers of star studded celebrities increase with designs by up and coming and some already established  designers.  2011 is no different as the NWSD has three of our students present at the semi finals judging for this glamorous event.  Stiena Hoffmann,  Ilze Delport, and Melanie Grobler were among the numbers of competitor designers on 26 May in Bloemfontein

It’s a proud moment for the lecturers and students of the NWSD as we can proudly say we have got the utmost confidence for all three of our candidates and hope all the best for them.

Vintage Fashion Show @ Rio Casino Resort & Hotel

towels02.jpgAs we all know fashion always ends up in a full circle. What was Fashionable a few decades ago is sure to be fashionable again at some stage or another. With that being said we have found a very appropriate manner to bring tribute to the fashion of yesteryear.

On the 2'nd of July 2011 we will be hosting a Vintage Fashion Show at the Rio Casino Resort in Klerksdorp. It promises to be an unforgettable event showcasing the talents of our students.  We are planning to dust of Gran's Dresses and add a little modern flavour, jazz it up and showing you what weve got.  It is not only exciting for us as the North West School of Design but a perfect opportunity for our students to broaden their horizons and work with textures and styles unknown to them. Keep an eye on our Facebook page for regular updates and more info.
